Dodgeball Tournament raises $12K for PVSD Education Foundation

More than 900 school and community members teamed up for fundraising event

It was student versus student, teacher versus teacher, firefighter versus firefighter and district office employees versus administrators as over 900 Perkiomen Valley School District students, employees and community members squared off in the Third Annual Dodgeball Tournament held at Perkiomen Valley High School on March 30.

The event raised $12,000 for the Perkiomen Valley School District Education Foundation, an independent, non-profit organization that enhances and enriches educational opportunities for PV students through grants and scholarships to teachers. For more information, visit www.pvsdfoundation.org.

This year, a record-number of participants played, with unique names like “Dodgelicious,” the “E-Lemon-Aters,” “The Young and the Restless” and “Don’t Stop Balleving.” Contest winning teams included:

  • “Linsanity,” which came in first for the division for those 12 and under;
  • “Team Awesome,” which came in first for division for those 13 and older;
  • “Team IV,” which came in first in the mixed division for adults and youth of all ages;
  • “The Flying Dutchmen,” which came in first for best costumes; and

·         “The Young and the Restless,” which came in first for best team name.
