Fire Battled At Skippack Home On Thanksgiving Night

A local home caught fire early Thursday night.

SKIPPACK TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters battled a blaze at a Skippack Township home early Thursday evening.

The incident occurred in the early evening hours Thursday on the 800 block of Appaloosa Court.

Officials said they believed the fire may have originated in the chimney. When they arrived on the scene it had extended "well beyond" the chimney, first responders said.

The fire was extinguished. The house was damaged but no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is not yet clear.

Skippack Fire Company was assisted by units from Perkiomen Township, Harleysville, and multiple surrounding municipalities.
