Gunshots Fired, Property Damaged in Trappe

A police report does not indicate a conviction. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

are investigating a New Year’s Eve incident in which a gunshot damaged property in the 100 block of Lafayette Circle in Trappe.
According to a police report, two women said shortly before 9 p.m. they heard six to seven gunshots from the rear yard and heard a window break.
“A spent round was found in the window frame (of a second-floor rear bedroom) along with a broken window,” the report states.

Collegeville Woman Accused of DUI
Nicole Kirkpatrick, 25, of Collegeville was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Jan. 2 at 2:45 a.m. and will face charges in , according to a Pennsylvania State Police report.
Police saw Kirkpatrick driving a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche south on Route 113 in Skippack Township, and the reportedly vehicle had a flat tire and “obvious damage.”
After being stopped, Kirkpatrick said she hit a curb, according to police; she allegedly appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Kirkpatrick was arrested after being given field sobriety tests, according to police.
After checking the area, police said there was evidence Kirkpatrick hit a guiderail on Route 73 near old Forty Foot Road.

Police: Investigation Pending in Assault Case
Mauro Casas-Hernandez, 33, of Trappe is accused of injuring a 17- or 18-year-old male after allegedly punching him in the face several times.
The incident occurred in the 1500 block of West Main Street in Trappe at 6:30 a.m. Dec. 31, 2011, police said.
The investigation is pending, according to the report.

Information Sought in Hit-and-Run Crash
Pennsylvania State Police are seeking information about a white van that reportedly struck a car parked at 759 Daniel Drive shortly before 11 p.m. Dec. 23. The driver continued traveling, failing to stop “to render aid or provide information,” the report states.
The striking vehicle is described as a white 2007 Chevrolet 1500 van, PA registration YKV9218.

Police: Wall Damaged in Hit, Run Crash in Skippack
Pennsylvania State Police say “a larger style struck, such as a dump truck or similar heavy vehicle” struck a brick wall at Evansburg and Miller roads in Skippack Township around 10 p.m. Dec. 29, 2011.

Gilbertsville Man Suffers Minor Injuries in One-Car Crash
Richard A. Heid, 18, of Gilbertsville, was treated for minor injuries at Lansdale Hospital following a one-vehicle crash in Skippack Township at 11:11 p.m. Dec. 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Heid was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer west on Route 73/Skippack Pike when the vehicle “traveled off the right side of the roadway and its front passenger side impacted a Verizon utility pole,” according to a police report.
The car spun 360 degrees and came to an “uncontrolled rest” in the eastbound lane.
Source One towed the vehicle from the scene; Heid has received a citation for reported violations for vehicle code 3309.

One-Car Crash in Schwenksville Borough
A Schwenksville woman, 24-year-old Jennifer Harman, avoided injury after her car hit a retaining wall in the 1000 block of Gravel Pike/Route 29 in the borough shortly before midnight Dec. 27, 2011.
Pennsylvania State Police reported Harman lost control of the 1999 Dodge Caravan due to wet roadways; the vehicle came to a “controlled stop on the roadway.”
Carole and Fred Himes Towing took the vehicle from the scene.
