Man Beats Woman With Baseball Bat In Lower Frederick: Cops

The suspect fled the scene after beating her, but was captured shortly thereafter by authorities.

LOWER FREDERICK, PA — One man was arrested after beating a woman with a baseball bat inside a home in Lower Frederick Township, police said.

James Douglas Wilson, 52, became involved in an altercation with the victim on the 100 block of Colonial Drive on the night of Saturday, June 10, according to authorities.

When first responders arrived on the scene, the woman was suffering from "substantial" injuries which required immediate medical attention, police said.

Wilson fled the scene before authorities arrived. Police put out information on Wilson throughout the county, and he was taken into custody shortly thereafter some 20 minutes away by the Plymouth Township Police Department.

Wilson was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of simple assault, one count of possessing an instrument of crime, and one count of reckless endangerment, police said.

He was sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

The victim is recovering. A motivation for the attack is not known.

A preliminary hearing for Wilson is forthcoming.
