Missing Montgomery Co. Teen Found Dead

The 16-year-old had last been seen walking home from high school on Tuesday afternoon.

PENNSBURG, PA — The Montgomery County teen who went missing this week was found dead on Wednesday, police confirmed.

Maryann Dyer, 16, was last seen walking home from Upper Perkiomen High School just a day earlier, at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Details surrounding her death remain unclear. The discovery brought to a close a coordinated search of the area between several local law enforcement agencies and first responders, who scoured the area Wednesday.

Police said that they "have no information to indicate there is a threat to the community."

An investigation is ongoing.

Police said that Dyer had called her mother in the afternoon on Tuesday. She was last seen walking east on 11th Street in Red Hill.
