There will be no tax increase for Skippack residents in the coming year. The township supervisors unanimously passed the 2011 budget at their meeting Wednesday evening. The projected revenue is nearly $2.5 million; projected expenditures total $2,392,628.
"The township is in excellent fiscal shape. We have a fairly large surplus every year," said Supervisors Chairman Mark Marino.

- The supervisors approved a conditional use request from T-Mobile Northeast LLC. According to attorney Kate Durso, the plans include adding nine antennae to an existing PECO tower and installing a 10-foot-by-20-foot concrete slab for equipment placement within a fenced area of a parcel of PECO-owned land on Anders Road.
Solicitor Jill Zimmerman recommended conditions, which the supervisors also approved, including that the property's "use and development" remain in accordance with what was presented at the hearing, and that T-Mobile "comply with all township ordinances." The supervisors also granted waiver of land development.
- The supervisors granted another waiver of land development to H&K, of Lucon Road, for an addition to an auto body shop. Reports indicated the addition would not impact stormwater runoff or traffic.
- Advertising for the ordinance to vacate Skippack Creek Road was authorized. According to Township Manager Ted Locker Jr., "The state park is looking to take over that road within Evansburg State Park; it constantly floods and (requires) a lot of maintenance" for an infrequently traveled road.
