Child Sexual Assaults Committed in Collegeville, Police Say

Sean Rahatt is facing more than 100 felony and misdemeanor charges for what police say was the repeated sexual assault of young children.

A Norristown man is being held in county prison on $99,000 bail after being arrested and charged with the repeated sexual assault of multiple young victims over a 12-year-period in multiple municipalities, including Collegeville.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, 41-year-old Sean Rahatt also sexually assaulted the juveniles, who were under the age of 13, in Norristown  and Lansdale.

According to the affidavit, Rahatt told a witness that he had been abused prior and was "reenacting his past." He also reportedly attempted to justify his actions by putting them in historical context, saying similar activity occurred in Roman times and that such activity was still accepted in some parts of the world.
