UPDATE: One-Vehicle Crash into Small Embankment in Skippack

Emergency crews responded to the scene.

An elderly Collegeville woman was taken to Phoenixville Hospital after suffering moderate injuries when her car flipped in the air and crashed into an embankment on Creek Road in Skippack, Sunday morning, Feb. 5, according to .

A police report states Margaret Williams, 86, was traveling west on Creek Road, approaching the intersection with Penn Road, when her 2008 Ford Focus sedan "traveled off the roadway to the right," striking a sign post and embankment.

Following the impact, the car flipped in the air before coming to rest in the westbound lane, about 60 feet from the initial impact, police said.

and EMS were among the responders. Norm's Save Station towed the car from the scene.

Williams will be cited violating vehicle code 3309 (1) (driving within a single lane), according to police.

According to troopers at the scene, an elderly woman had been driving the vehicle, and she was conscious and talking at the scene. There is currently no report on the extent of her injuries, or if she suffered any.

Early, unofficial reports indicate the vehicle, a Ford Focus sedan, may have flipped and landed on its wheels before hitting the embankment on Creek Road. Glass was shattered on the road, and the car's hood was severely damaged.
