PennDOT: Another Year or Two Before Bridge Work on Rt 73
Original correspondence slated work for this spring

A rehabilitation project for the Route 73/Skippack Pike bridge that spans the Perkiomen Creek -- between Route 29 and Haldeman Road -- is still in the preliminary design stage and will not begin in spring 2012, , according to PennDOT spokesperson Charles Metzger.
A design consultant is still being selected, Metzger said during a phone interview Tuesday afternoon, so construction will not begin until 2013 or 2014.
The Route 73 bridge is among a group PennDOT is looking at for rehabilitation, Metzger said. The project would rehabilitate the superstructure, which is the top part of the bridge, he added.
