[Altoona, PA, March 2018] Kate Schartel Novak was crowned Mrs. Pennsylvania International 2019 on March 16, 2019 in Altoona. Kate will be traveling the Commonwealth speaking on behalf of her platform, Sesame Workshop. Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit behind the beloved show Sesame Street and its international co-productions, the original and revival versions of The Electric Company, and most recently, Esme & Roy. Sesame Workshop also spearheads a variety of social impact programs that meet the needs of children in over 150 countries. Some domestic initiatives include Sesame Street in Communities, Sesame Street & Autism: See Amazing in All Children, and Sesame Street for Military Families. International initiatives address girls’ education, health and hygiene, and the refugee crisis. All initiatives work to promote Sesame Workshop’s mission to help children become smarter, stronger, and kinder.

The Mrs. International Pageant system was developed to promote today's married women, their accomplishments, and their commitment to family and marriage. Around the world women are finding this system to be the opportunity to work with their husband and family to become positive role models. Being the premiere pageant for married women gives Mrs. International® a chance to open doors for married women around the world.
