Perkiomen Township Among 10 Montgomery County Fire Departments To Receive Grants

PA American Water has provided grants to ten fire departments across Montgomery County.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY, PA -- Perkiomen Township is among ten fire departments across Montgomery County that received a grant from Pennsylvania American Water, the company announced in a recent press release.

The grants, totaling around $5,500, were made possible through the company's Firefighting Support Grant Program. The program has donated $400,000 to help 500 fire departments across the state since its founding in 2009.

Donated money will be used for purchasing safety gear, lifesaving equipment, training materials, and essential firefighting apparatus, according to the company.

“We’re proud to support the important work performed by emergency responders here in Montgomery County,” Pennsylvania American Water Operations Superintendent James Gable said a in a statement. “At a time when funding and volunteers at many of our fire departments are limited, we are pleased to support and partner with public safety organizations who make our communities better places to live.”
