Perkiomen Valley School District’s mission is to cultivate an inclusive community of learners empowered to grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic just over a year ago, there has been an alarming increase in racist incidents targeting members of the Asian American community. The Board of Directors of the Perkiomen Valley School District categorically condemn any act of discrimination or violence against any person. We cannot be silent as we see the increase in violent and racist incidents toward Asian Americans. As a school district, we must continue the work of combatting all harassment and discrimination, keeping the recent vulnerability of the Asian American community in mind. We encourage any student or family in our PV community who feels victimized to reach out for support and we welcome any suggestions for how to better support our Asian American students. Our aim is to continue taking steps to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our students, our staff, and our community.
We will remain vigilant and stand firmly against ignorance, hate, and racism.
