PV Student Places 2nd In National Science Contest; Wins $175K
Congratulations to Perkiomen Valley's Aaron J. Yeiser!

PERKIOMEN VALLEY, PA -- What an incredible journal for Schwenksville native and Perkiomen Valley senior, Aaron J. Yeiser.
The gifted young man has placed second in the national Regeneron Science Talent Search, a highly regarded science competition bringing together the best high school minds in the field from around the country.
As part of the honor of being the runner-up, Yeiser will receive a $175,000 award, according to the school district.

Yeiser, a Presidential Scholar, was first named one of 300 semi-finalists in early January. He then made the next cut to get into the final 40 that headed to Washington D.C. to compete for the top prize of $250,000.
Yesier's project was entitled "A Next Generation Partial Differential Equation Solver." According to Perkiomen Valley, it's working on "developing a better method for solving complex turbulent-flow problems."

The Regeneron Science Talent Search (formerly run by Intel) is one of the most prestigious science competitions for high school students in the country. More than 1,700 applicants submitted their projects this year.
