Trappe, Collegeville Fire Companies to Residents: Clear Snow Around Hydrants
According to the Collegeville and Trappe fire companies, shoveling out fire hydrants could save essential time in an emergency.

Several local emergency service organizations remind residents to clear fire hydrants when shoveling snow.
Trappe Fire Co. posted a notice to “Adopt-A-Hydrant,” asking residents to clear three feet around all fire hydrants, with clear access from the street.
"The time we would spend digging them out could be the difference in an Emergency," according to Collegeville Fire Co. on Facebook.

Emergency service provider also ask residents to utilizing off-street parking whenever possible, allowing better access for emergency vehicles and the department of public works to clear roads more effectively.
