Route 73 Widening for Prison Project Starting Monday
Traffic through this portion of Skippack Township can expect delays, according to report.

Road work on Route 73/Skippack Pike in Skippack Township, which is part of the , will begin Monday, March 12, could cause traffic delays, according to a Reporter article.
A press release from PennDOT states the Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS) will restrict traffic between Lucon Road and Hudnut Road along Route 73. DGS will reduce Route 73 to one lane weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through November 2015. Traffic will be controlled by flagging. Motorists could also face temporary nighttime restrictions from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Skippack Township Manager Ted Locker was concerned about the projected length of time the project would impact Route 73, according to the article.

"'That seems hard to believe,” Locker is quoted as saying.
“'It seems ridiculous. I’m hoping they could finish the driveway near the intersection within a few months and leave the scene. And if you’re careful, you can get two lanes of traffic through there.'”
