Santa Claus got a little help from local fire and EMS crews during the annual Santa Run on Saturday, Dec. 17.

Collegeville kids whose parents dropped off presents prior to the event received wrapped gifts during the neighborhood visits. Other area children were given candy canes and the volunteer Santas and elves made their rounds.

, , and fire companies also made the rounds, sharing candy, fruit and some Christmas spirit with their communities.

The run kept some of the companies on the road for a couple hours, if not longer. Trappe Fire Co.'s Assistant Chief John Bolger told his crew that while it was a long day, "you're going to make kids' days."
