Skippack Burglary Under Investigation

A police report does not indicate a conviction. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

A Skippack man reported a burglary at his home in the 2000 block of Old Forty Foot Road, according to a report. The incident occurred sometime between Sunday, Jan. 15, and Wednesday, Jan. 18.
The man told police that people damaged his residence’s garage door and entered the garage. There was also an attempt to enter the residence by “forcing a front window up and tearing out the interior screen,” the report states.
The investigation continues, police said. 

Skippack Man Accused of DUI
Eric Cassel, 29, of Skippack was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 15.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, Cassel was stopped for registration violations and driving in an allegedly erratic manner. Cassel allegedly showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for DUI after being given field sobriety tests.
Charges will be filed , police said.

Crossbow found in Trappe
Pennsylvania State Police are looking for the owner of a camouflage crossbow, which was found on Main Street in Trappe Borough shortly before 11 p.m. on Jan. 12.

Women Accused of Simple Assault, Harassment Incident
Two Perkiomen Township women are facing charges stemming from an early morning altercation that occurred in the 100 block of Gravel Pike in the township on Jan. 14, according to police.
Jolene Rene Wentz, 37, and Amy Lynne Kilpatrick, 36, allegedly “engaged in a fight where they assaulted each other,” the police report states.
Charges have been filed in District Court 38-1-24.

Police: Man Jailed for Trying to Choke Wife
A Perkiomen Township man was jailed in lieu of $2,500 cash bail after he allegedly tried to choke his wife during a fight on Jan. 4.
Charges were filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Albert J. Augustine, according to a Pennsylvania State Police report.

Two Men Allegedly Stole from Ott’s
Zachary Charles William Soley, 21, of Cheltenham, and Jacob Michael Shane Monser-Brewer, 21, of Pen Argyl, were arraigned and jailed in Montgomery County Correctional Facility after allegedly stealing scrap metal from .
According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, troopers responded to Ott’s after “receiving a report of a theft of scrap metal, in progress” at 11:19 p.m. on Jan. 2
Soley and Monser-Brewer are accused of stealing the metal that night, as well as two prior occasions.

Egg Damages Man’s Car
Sometime earlier in January 2012 an unknown person threw an egg at a Collegeville man’s car in the 750 block of Daniel Drive, Skippack, causing about $100 worth of damage.
