Tammy Liberi: 'Fairness to Taxpayers is my Number One Priority'
Recent Trappe Borough auditor is seeking a seat on council.

Qualifications for the position
I've worked for a top 10 pharmaceutical company for more than 10 years. During this time, I've lead several global teams through various phases of a clinical trial.  I've also managed budgets larger and more complicated than Trappe's.  If Trappe voters elect me to council, I will use the skills I've acquired to educate people when issues arise and work with them for solutions. Also, as a recent Trappe Borough auditor, I have insight into council proceedings and believe that I can leverage this when improving and documenting borough processes.
Trappe’s biggest issues
Fairness to taxpayers is my number one priority, and yes, I still think Trappe finances are the biggest issue.  Also, repairing deteriorating roads and renovating the firehouse are urgent issues. I intend to work closely
with other Borough Council members on these issues and ensure that we are thoroughly evaluating and challenging each project that arises. Trappe has immediate needs, also Trappe has identified nice-to-have
projects; my priority is addressing urgent needs without affecting taxes.  Also I propose moving large expenses, not essential to safe borough operations, which would increase taxes, to a voter referendum, letting taxpayers decide if they would accept a tax increase to fund it.
On revitalization
I support Trappe's Main Street revitalization project under the condition that we the taxpayers are not additionally taxed now or in the future in order to make it happen. I think it is great that the organization Trappe Today and Tomorrow formed recently and is dedicated to leading this project through grants and
donations.

Before you vote
I would like voters to know that if they vote for me on Nov. 8, I will work closely with the other council members to ensure that individuals expressing concerns during the meetings feel listened to. I will work hard to preserve the current budget, trying to think of alternative ways (outside of new taxes) to pay for necessities such as improvements to firehouse structure, roads, etc.  I will also ensure that as issues are brought to the attention of Council, we follow these items to closure as quickly as possible.
