Terrie Stagliano: 'I am Committed to Our Town'
Former Collegeville Borough Councilperson answers our questions as she campaigns for a seat again.

Why she is the best candidate for a borough council seat
I believe that in any position such as Borough Council, honesty, reliability, an ability to work with a committee towards a common goal and a strong commitment to Collegeville Borough and its residents are just a few of the qualities and qualifications someone should have for this position. I also believe that I have shown those qualities to the residents of Collegeville during my prior years on council and my current board member commitments.Â
Collegeville’s most important issue
One important issue facing Collegeville is retaining businesses in our community. With the slow economy and so many people unemployed, our local businesses are facing difficult times and making even more difficult decisions concerning their future. We need to maintain the lines of communication open to all of our business owners and to address their concerns, promote new business to Collegeville as much as the economy currently allows and continue the renewal efforts.
On revitalization
My personal vision for Collegeville has aspects that already exist, including a pedestrian friendly community, safe neighborhoods to live and raise a family with the wonderful police and fire department Collegeville has. I also envision a strong and active business community, which is currently challenged. Our Borough Manager, Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Program, State Senator John Rafferty and State Representative Mike Vereb are all integral in keeping Collegeville's plan moving forward with progressive ideas and the funding necessary for new projects.

On taxes
Once again, maintaining a vibrant business community and an efficient local government are key to keeping taxes as low as possible.
Â
What else would you like the voters to know before they go into the voting booth?
I have lived in our borough for 20 years, own and operate a business here and along with my husband, Al, raised my two daughters in Collegeville. I am committed to our town and my goal is to make sure Collegeville remains the premier town to live, work and raise a family. From 1998 to 2009Â when previously on council, that focus never changed and never will change. I have tremendous respect for anyone who chooses to volunteer their time and energy by seeking or holding the position of borough councilperson and all of the challenges that can sometimes bring. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 8. Thank you!
