Upper Salford Man Wants Computer Chats, Images Out of Sex Abuse Trial

Barry McOwen is accused of drugging and assaulting four children

Through his new lawyer George S. Yacoubian Jr., alleged child rapist Barry McOwen, 67, of Upper Salford, is arguing that the warrants used to search his home were "not supported by probable cause," and therefore the found items cannot be used at his upcoming trial, according to an article from The Pottstown Mercury.

Between 2006 and 2011, McOwen allegedly used allergy medicine to drug four girls -- all younger than age 10 -- videotaped their sexual assaults and then shared the recordings on the Internet, the article states. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A search of McOwen's home in June 2011 reportedly yielded thousands of images of child pornography on McOwen's computer, as well as allegedly incriminating comupter chats and bottles of allergy and prescription medication, the article states. McOwen also wants to suppress statements he gave police, during which he allegedly confesses to the crimes, according to the article.
