Welcome Home, Cpl. Joe Malec

and fire companies were among the local organizations that took part in "A Hero's Welcome" for local Marine Cpl. Joseph (Joe) Malec, in Schwenksville, Sunday, Feb. 12.

Malec has served in the United States Marine Corps for the past four years, and he has recently re-enlisted, according to an e-mail from his mother-in-law, who requested the welcome. His service included one year in Afghanistan.

Malec and his wife, Rachel, have two sons -- Ryan, 4, and Gunner, about 10 months. This is the first time Malec has met Gunner, the e-mail states, who was born six weeks early. (Source)
