Cop Class: Peters To Offer Citizen's Police Academy

Residents will be schooled in a variety of police procedures.

PETERS, PA - Call it cop school. Township residents curious about law enforcement will be able to get a firsthand look at how the Peters Police Department operates.

The department will hold a Citizen’s Police Academy beginning next month to broaden residents’ knowledge of police procedures. Participants will be instructed on the specifics of the crimes code and vehicle code and gain a greater understanding of patrol tactics, the processing of crime scenes, interview and interrogation methods and many other aspects of police methodology.

The academy runs from May 9 to June 13. It will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at the police department on Municipal Drive. Enrollment is limited to 25 people to ensure greater interaction between students and instructors.
