Dierks Bentley Tops 5 Weekend Things To Do Around Peters
There's also an appearance by local favorites The Clarks, a sandwich showdown in the Strip District and more.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - Two weeks in a row, we’re having kick-butt country music concerts at the shed in Burgettstown. Last week, it was Sam Hunt. This week it’s Dierks Bentley.
That’s cool for country music fans, but not so hot for fans of ‘80’s hair metal bands such as Poison. They’re going to have to find something else to do this weekend. Thankfully, that’s the beauty of this five things list. You might not like everything on it but chances are that you’ll find something that appeals to you.
Bentley has accumulated 25 singles on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, including 15 that have reached number one. Those songs include “What Was I Thinkin’,” “Come a Little Closer,” “Settle for a Slowdown,” “I Hold On,” “Drunk On a Plane,” and “Somewhere on a Beach.”
He brings his “What The Hell” tour to town (or a reasonably close drive to it) on June 24 at 7 p.m. at KeyBank Pavilion. Dierks Bentley tickets start at $32.
Other weekend highlights:
- The Clarks, June 24, 6:30 p.m., Stage AE, North Shore
The Fayette County Fair doesn’t begin until July 27, but you can see this legendary local band sing about love gone sour, suspicion and bad debt well before then. The band has been a Pittsburgh staple for nearly 30 years, so expect to hear songs that helped keep them that way thorough the past three decades. We’re talking “Penny on the Floors,” “Born Too Late,” and the aforementioned tune about sour love. The Clarks tickets start at $66.

There will be live music, craft beer, Wigle Whiskey and Pittsburgh Winery drinks and more. Admission is free, food samples are not.
- BNY Mellon Grand Classics: Honeck Conducts Beethoven, June 24, 8 p.m., Heinz Hall, Downtown
Manfred Honeck and Pittsburgh Symphony musicians will perform Beethoven’s beloved "Pastoral" Symphony. In a program sure to ignite and stimulate the senses, world-renowned German baritone Matthias Goerne joins the orchestra for his debut with Mahler’s Twelve Songs from “Des Knaben Wunderhorn.”. Honeck Conducts Beethoven tickets start at $20.

- “An Act of God,” Pittsburgh Public Theater, June 24, 8 p.m.; June 25, 2 p.m., O’Reilly Theater, Downtown.
Marcus Stevens stars as God in this hilarious comedy that updates the Ten Commandments. Written by David Javerbaum, former writer of "The Daily Show” and directed by Ted Pappas. This show has adult language, but thankfully “Thou shalt not cuss” isn’t a commandment.“ An Act of God” tickets start at $30.
