Happy Hauntings Tops 5 Weekend Things To Do Around Peters

Halloween activities are in full swing, but non-spooky events also are occurring.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - As you might expect this time of year, Halloween activities abound - particularly on weekends. But filled this space with nothing but spooky-themed events would be unfair to the folks who aren’t into ghouls and goblins, so we’re going to have a healthy mix of suggestions of things to do.

But we’re going to start with Halloween.

Happy Hauntings is a new event at Kennywood for younger kids designed to complement the amusement park’s scarier Phantom Fright Nights. Aimed at children under 10. It includes hay rides, pumpkin decorating, a mystery maze and dance party. Kiddieland will be open, as will the Auto Race, Train, Merry-Go-Round, Paratrooper and Jack Rabbit.
Kids can wear their costumes, but parts of some costumes such as capes or longer accessories may not be worn on select rides for safety reasons. No adults will be permitted in costume.
The first Happy Hauntings weekend occurs Oct. 7-8 from noon-4 p.m..
Happy Hauntings tickets start at $13.99.
