It's Not Too Late to Celebrate National Ice Cream Month!
Here are five places to get your ice cream on in the Peters Township area.

If you're hankering for a milkshake or sundae, you can thank former President Ronald Reagan for giving us all a whole month to celebrate the frozen dairy treats.
Reagan in 1984 declared July National Ice Cream Month—and considering that Wednesday is the last day to celebrate, we here at Peters Patch figured we'd give you a list of five local places to hoist a cone in honor of the designation.
1. Bruster's Ice Cream
If you're a fan of hard-pack ice cream, then head to Bruster's. Sure, you could go for the classics such as chocolate and vanilla, but there are more adventurous flavors, as well. In season now? Peach and black raspberry. The store is located on Valley Brook Road.Â
2. Cowtastic Frozen Yogurt
O.K. So, technically, it's not ice cream...but it's still frozen and delicious, so we won't tell if you won't. This place is self-serve, and includes fresh fruit and candy with which to top your froyo. For a limited time, you can try a new flavor there, too—creamy banana! Follow the shop on Facebook by clicking here.
3. Eat'n Park
Eat'n Park is the place for smiles—and sundaes! Diners can get a classic Sunday, or try something like the turtle or Oreo sundaes, which are also on the dessert menu. You can also celebrate all things ice cream with a thick shake or as a topping for your pie! For the full menu, click here.
4. Max & Erma's
Really hungry? Then head over to Max & Erma's, where there is an all-you-can eat ice cream sundae bar. Did we mention the cold stuff and toppings are housed in an antique bathtub? For the full menu, click here.
5. Sarris Candies
This iconic Canonsburg store is known for its decadent chocolate—but its ice cream parlor is also a favorite place for local families to get their dairy on. With 26 flavors of hard-pack ice cream on the menu, customers can customize their cones or milkshakes. If you want to go big in honor of the holiday, why not try a Big Tyme Sundae? With three big scoops of ice cream and your favorite toppings, it will surely be enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. To check out the full menu, click here.
