Peters-Area Volunteers Help To Build Playground
They were part of a 200-member contingent that constructed the new play area.
PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - When it comes to volunteering to help others, people in and around Peters aren’t afraid to step up to the plate. That was proven again Thursday, when 13 employees of HomeServe’s Service Line Warranties of America helped to build a new playground in North Boundary Park in Cranberry.
The team from the Cecil Township business joined more than 200 other volunteers from area companies. Including Highmark, Alcoa and Columbia Gas. Seneca Valley School District also bussed in students who got extremely muddy in the wet weather as they planted shrubs and grasses.
The work occurred under the direction of Kaboom!, a national organization that has supervised volunteer community-built playground projects throughout the country, and the Pennsylvania Municipal League in conjunction with the league’s 2018 annual summit.
