Peters Kids Camps Kicking Off Next Week

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - If you’re looking for something to keep the kids occupied during the summer break, the township will offer three one-week day camps starting next week for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade.

The camps will run weekdays from nine a.m. to noon at Peterswood Park Shelter Four. The per-week fee is $55 for township residents, $83 for non-residents.

The weekly themes:

  • July 10-14: Nature Rocks!
  • July 17-21: Superhero Academy
  • July 24-28: Game On!


Also next week, the township will hold Lion King Theater Camp for kids ages 9-12 at the township community recreation center. Daily vocal, acting and dance lessons will be enhanced by theater games and activities. The camp, which runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon, costs $130 for members, $195 for non-members.

For kids ages 6-8, the township will hold Sound of Music Theater Camp featuring songs from the classic musical. Like Lion King camp, daily vocal, acting, and dance lessons will be enhanced by fun theatre games and activities. The camp, which runs from 1-4 p.m. is $130 for members, $195 for non-members.

For kids ages 7-11, the township will hold Dance It Out Camp July 12-14 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Kids will receive instruction in dance styles such as hip hop, bollywood, jive, country and more. The fee is $45 for members, $68 for non-members.

Pre-registration for all camps is required online or at the Community Recreation Center.
