Peters Plans Annual Community Day Celebration

The 39th Annual Peters Community Day will feature fun activities, food and fireworks.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - In a tradition spanning nearly four decades, township residents will celebrate mark the annual Peters Township Community Day with a bevy of family oriented activities and entertainment.

This year’s event, sponsored by the township and the Peters Township Chamber of Commerce, will be held June 24 at Peterswood Park from 11 a.m to 5 p.m., with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Because limited parking is available at Peterswood Park, shuttle service will be provided from Peters Township Middle School on East McMurray Road.

According to township officials, the 39th annual Community Day will feature 160 food, craft, games and vendor booths. A raffle also will be held, with a winner being picked every five minutes.

At the new park amphitheater, a family magic show will be held at noon and an animal tracks show will occur at 1:30 p.m.

Among the events taking place for the entire event are Paul’s “A” Train, Joe King chainsaw carving and Soundwaves Event Group disc jockeying the festivities. Also on hand will be one-man-band Nick DiSanto, WJPA-FM radio, character visits by Batman, Wonder Woman and Princess Belle, Busy Bee’s Arty Party face painting, ABC Balloon Twisting and accordionist Pat Septak.
