Peters Holding Drug Take-Back Event
Township residents can discard old prescription drugs at four locations on April 29.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - For the 13th time in seven years, residents will have the opportunity to help prevent prescription pill abuse. The Peters Police Department, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration are having another Drug Tak- Back Day.
The DEA began hosting drug take-back events in 2010. At the previous 12 events, millions pounds of unwanted, unneeded or expired medications were surrendered for safe and proper disposal. At the Take-Back Day in May 2016 more than 5,400 sites across the nation collected unwanted medications.
On April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., people can rid their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and prescription drugs. The pills can be dropped off at the following locations:

- Rite Aid Pharmacy, ,4185 Washington Road, McMurray
- Giant Eagle, 4017 Washington Road, McMurray
- Giant Eagle Market District 2840 Washington Road, McMurray.
- Heisler’s Market, 601 East McMurray Road, McMurray
There is no charge for the service and the drugs can be dropped off anonymously, no questions asked. Only pills and patches will be accepted. The DEA does not accept liquids, needles, sharps, asthma inhalers or illicit drugs.
