Peters' Rolling Hills Park Plan Packed With Attractions
Find out here what's planned for the 90-acre park property.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - About the only thing missing in the master plan for the new Rolling Hills Park is a roller coaster. You can put a lot of different things on 90 acres of land and the township intends to do just that.
The details will be discussed at a public hearing on the master plan, which will be held Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers. But here’s a sneak peak of what is being proposed for the park, which will have a south and north valley:
SOUTH VALLEY

- An Adventure Play Area that will include a zip line, tire volcano, swings, climbing wall, balance beam, agility rope course, climbing nets, swinging bridge and a fort building.
- A dog park.
- A pavilion and picnic area with a playground.
- An aquatics facility that will include a swimming pool, slides, bathhouse, concession area and a separate spray park.
- A great lawn with viewing decks, another playground and a water fountain.
- A two-story picnic lodge.
- A court games area that will include an indoor tennis building, basketball court, dek hockey, outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts and bocce courts.
NORTH VALLEY
- A nature center building with a picnic area.
- A winter pavilion.
- A bike agility course.
- Walking and mountain bike trails.
- A nature play area with attractions such as a boulder mound and slides built into hillsides, a log balancing beam and an outdoor classroom with log seating.
The park is being developed on half of the site of the former Rolling Hills Country Club. The other half of the 180-acre property is owned by the Peters Township School District, which is building a new high school on the site.

The township last year hired Mackin Engineering to design the master plan. The firm was paid $112,000.
