Peters School District, Teachers Agree On Contract Extension

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA -The Peters Township School District and Peters Township Federation of Teachers (PTFT) have agreed to extend the current contract through June 2024. The new contract was approved by the school PTFT and the Board of School Directors at their meetings Monday evening.
The current six-year agreement would have expired in June 2021. The new agreement provides , teachers with annual $1,400 salary increases effective in the 2021-2022 school year. The new pact includes health care changes that administrators contend financially benefit the district while maintaining quality health care options for staff.
“We are grateful for the positive working relationship between the Federation and the District,” superintendent Jeannine French said in a district release. “This agreement allows us to continue our focus on quality education for our students.”

The union is composed of 279 teachers, counselor and nurses who serve the district’s nearly 4,100 students.
