Peters Township High School Graduation: 5 Things You Need To Know

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - Ready the caps and gowns, smiles and tears. Peters Township High School seniors will graduate June 8 and you want to be as prepared as possible for this memorable event.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Parking

Parking at the high school will be available along with additional spots available at Pleasant Valley Elementary. Staff members in golf carts will be moving throughout the lots to help transport visitors in need of assistance to the stadium. Traffic in the area is always heavy the afternoon of commencement, so arrive early.

Please consider using one of the parking shuttles that will be available for commencement from the PT Middle School. Parking shuttles begin at 5:30 p..m.

• When the ceremony starts

Commencement will begin at 7 p.m. in the high school stadium. In the event of inclement weather, graduation will occur in the high school gym and only those guests with tickets will be permitted in the gym. All others can watch the ceremony broadcast live in the auditorium.

• The outside-inside decision

If it’s necessary to move the ceremony indoors, a decision will be made Friday afternoon. If an indoor ceremony occurs, all guests must enter via the main high school entrance and proceed to the gym or auditorium. Gym doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

• The simulcast

The ceremony will be simulcast in the auditorium where family and friends of the graduates may watch who do not wish to sit outside. The district is also working to provide live video of the ceremony online for family members who are unable to attend to view via the internet. Click here for the live video link. The link will not be live until graduation day.

• The photographs

Tri-Color Photography will provide photographs from the commencement ceremony.

Photographers will be on-hand at the ceremony and proofs of the photos will be provided online via www.tri-colorphotography.com following the event for purchase. Photographers will also be in Room 100 (chorus room) prior to the ceremony starting at 5:45 p.m. with a backdrop to get informal individual or student group photos for any interested graduates. Parents will not be permitted on the field to take photos during the ceremony.
