Peters Township School District Needs Volunteers
The focus of one committee will be the human growth and development and sexuality units.

Peters Township School District is seeking volunteers for two committees.
The first is the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards Committee.
The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers.
The State Board adopted Common Core Standards in July 2010. Since that
time, the decision was made to craft a set of Pennsylvania Common Core Standards in English language arts and mathematics.
A committee will be formed to review the implementation of the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards. The first committee meeting will be held at 10 a.m. June 19 in the district's board room.
