Pittsburgh Woman to Stand Trial on Theft Charge

While a Pittsburgh woman was initially charged with three counts of failure to make the required deposits by Peters Township police, she will only stand trial for one of them.

District Judge James Ellis on Tuesday dismissed two of the three charges filed against Sheri Cogley, 39. She was held for court on only one charge, which stems from an alleged February incident, Peters Township police said.

Police said Opeka Auto Repair contacted the department to report that while three customers paid for their deductibles in cash—that the payments were never recorded as received in the company's computer system.

Police said detectives tracked the incidents to then-employee Cogley who was arrested on the charges last month
