Plant Sale, Flea Market Slated at Peters Township Library

Need a hanging basket to spruce up your front porch? How about some annuals? Herbs more your thing?

Because all of that and more will be for purchase at the 13th annual plant sale and flea market hosted by the Giant Oaks Garden Club.

The sale will happen rain or shine, and will be held at the Peters Township Public Library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 18.

In addition to the plants, which were grown in the gardens of Gian Oaks Garden Club members, there will also be a raffle of a basket of gardening items and more.

Proceeds of the sale will benefit area non-profits. In 2011 the club supported the Canonsburg Lake Restoration and Improvement Committee, the Outdoor Classroom, Peters Creek Historical Society and more.

The club also supports youngsters by offering at least one $1,000 scholarship to an area high school senior pursuing a degree in a horticulture-related field.
