PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - Summer is a season to get out of the house and socialize, and there aren’t many better ways to do that than by imbibing with a friend or neighbor at your local tavern. Ah, but which one? There are many in and around Peters. Which are the best?
Opinions vary, of course. But we sought the thoughts of Yelp users on the topic.
What follows is their top 10 list of bars in the 15317. Do you agree with the choices? Do you see a glaring omission? Is one or more of these places overrated?

1.All-Star Sports Bar and Grille, Southpointe Town Center“This place is great,” one Yelpster offered. “They have about a million TVs to watch sports on (and) lots of beer choices. My wife likes the snakebite, a Redd's apple ale mixed with Guinness.” Wrote another: “Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere...highly recommend this place for a good meal, drinks or to watch a game on the big screens.”

While he called the drinks cold, fresh and well-priced, this Yelp reviewer was most impressed by this: “During the summer they have a (covered) deck area where you are practically over the lake. Not that Canonsburg Lake is anything fancy, but it’s a nicer view than a parking lot.” Another called the atmosphere “trendy, with a full bar and TVs.”
3. Jimmy G’s Bar & Grill, 341 S. Central Ave., Canonsburg“The beer is always cold and they have a big menu for a small local bar,” one Yelpster wrote. . Food is always tremendous and extremely cheap.” Added another: “Definitely on my go to list when I'm feeling divey.”
Opined this Yelp reviewer: “Remodeled restaurant and bar with some nice wood and very light during the day. (The bar) has about 12 taps and a cooler full of beer.” Another wrote, “Big bar area with a lot of interesting beers on tap.”
5. New Hofbrau, 416 Highland Avenue, CanonsburgSince all of the Yelp comments focused on this place’s wings, we’re befuddled as to why it’s ranked so highly on a best taverns list. What can we say? Life isn’t alway logical.
“Great atmosphere, very attentive staff,” one Yelpster wrote. Another enthused reviewer added, “If you are looking for a decent happy hour, they have wine for like $2.50 a glass!”
7. Cannon’s Chop House, Southpointe Town CenterOne Yelp reviewer recommended the place on this aspect along: “You get to taste beers before you buy them so that is great!” Another offered, “There are so many craft beers, it's fantastic.”
8. Jackson’s Restaurant and Bar, 1000 Corporate Drive, Canonsburg“The bar area was crowded, but it was a Friday evening,” one Yelpster wrote. “(After dinner) and a couple of Guinness drafts for me and we had a hefty bill, but I don’t think that would stop me from returning again.” Wrote another: “Their bar and lounge give you a cool city club feel without the long drive into Pittsburgh. This is exactly what me and my friends have been looking for locally.”
9. Arlecchino Ristorante, 133 Camp Lane, McMurrayThe staff impressed this Yelp reviewer, who wrote, “Great service from Kiersten and another gentleman behind the bar.” Another added “The wine list is impressive...we were blown away.”
10. The Last Call, 342 Pike St., Canonsburg"Great place, very clean (and the) bartenders are very customer friendly," wrote one Yelpster. Opined another, "The bartender Lexi, is my favorite."
