Residents' Input Sought For Peters Hill Park Development
The township is forming a steering committee to help prepare the master plan for the sprawling park site.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - As plans advance to develop a park on the former Rolling Hills Country Club property, township officials are seeking volunteers to provide input into the park’s master plan.
The township wants to form a nine-member steering committee to help develop the plan. The committee will have its initial meeting on May 20 and will meet at least six other times over the following six months.
The township recently hired Mackin Engineering to design the master plan for the expansive space. Peters is acquiring about half of the 180-acre country club property on East McMurray Road, including the area where the clubhouse stands. The Peters Township School District is purchasing the other half and is considering building a new high school on the property.

Mackin, which will be paid $112,000 for the work, is expected to have the plan completed this fall. It’s unclear when the park would open.
Those interested in serving on the steering committee should email Michele Harmel, parks and recreation director, at RecreationDirector@peterstownship.com., by May 20. Only Peters residents will be considered for the panel, and finalists will be contacted to set up an interview with township council members.
