PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 50 (Avella Road) will be closed at the Railroad Crossing on Route 50 in Cross Creek Township, near the intersection of County Park Road Washington County. Work begins on Monday Nov. 17 and will continue until Saturday Nov. 22.
The closure will be in place to allow Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway crews to replace tracks and roadway surface. A posted detour will be in place, utilizing Route 231 (Painters Hill Scenic Drive Road) to Route 844 (Washington Pike) to Jefferson Avenue to Route 18 (Henderson Avenue).
Motorists are reminded to drive with caution and be alert when entering a work zone.
