Trace Your Roots at the Peters Township Public Library

If you ever wanted to learn to trace your family roots, an upcoming event at the Peters Township Public Library might be the perfect opportunity.

Kenneth Britten, president of the Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania, will be the featured speaker at a Genealogy workshop to be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Peters Township Public Library.

Britten, who is also a consultant at the Family History Center in Washington, will discuss “Beginning a Genealogy Search.”

Following his presentation, several members of the library’s “Roots” Genealogy Club will present information on different forms of genealogy research including site Search, Catholic records, tax records, and Genealogical organization/record keeping strategies. 

Cathy Pigford, facilitator of the Roots Club, will moderate.
