Pennsylvania American Water announced today that 10 students throughout the state—including two from Peters Township High School—have been selected to receive Stream of Learning Scholarships.
This is the fourth year that Pennsylvania American Water offered the program to support outstanding students within its service areas who are charting a course of study that is critical to the water and wastewater industry, with each winning student receiving a $2,000 scholarship.
Locally, Pennsylvania American Water awarded scholarships to Joshua Bowman and Rachel Crane of Peters Township High School.
Robin Crowley of Trinity High School and Garrett Green of Thomas Jefferson High School also received scholarships.
A panel of judges selected the winners from more than 150 scholarship applicants, who were evaluated on such criteria as academic achievement, letters of recommendation, community service and future careers plans in the water and wastewater industry.
“These Stream of Learning Scholarship recipients are outstanding students who possess the talent and abilities that are essential to the future of our industry,” said Pennsylvania American Water President Kathy L. Pape.
