Washington County DUI Task Force Announces Sobriety Checkpoint

The Washington County DUI Task Force will conduct a sobriety checkpoint this weekend.

Police said the sobriety checkpoint would be set up somewhere within the jurisdiction of the participating police departments—or where they are permitted to patrol.

The checkpoint will be conducted sometime between Thursday and July 1.

The Washington County DUI Task Force is composed of the following police departments: The City of Washington, South Strabane Township, North Strabane Township, Peters Township, McDonald, Cecil Township, Mt. Pleasant Township and Smith Township.

"We hope to curtail the drinking and driving," Peters Township police Capt. Michael Yanchak said.
