You Could Name New Peters Township Community Park

The township is holding a contest to name the park on the site of the old Rolling Hills Country Club.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - Care to leave a lasting legacy with the township and pocket $250 while doing it? Here’s your opportunity.

The township is holding a contest to name the new community park being developed at the former Rolling Hills Country Club. The township owns half the property; the Peters Township School District owns the other half and is building a new high school on it.

The deadline to submit the entry form is Oct. 16. The contest is open to all township residents kindergarten-age and older, but township employees are ineligible to participate. Only one entry per person will be accepted. If there are duplicate suggested park names submitted and that name is chosen for the park, the winner will be selected via a random drawing.

Entry forms may be dropped off at the Recreation Center, Library Circulation Desk, Municipal Building Reception Desk, or you may e-mail all of the information required on the entry form to Michele Harmel, Recreation Director, at Recreationdirector@peterstownship.com.

Ross Township in Pittsburgh’s North Hills held a similar contest earlier this year to name its new community park. The prize was a $100 gift basket.
