$20K Offered For Deadly July 4 Barbecue Shooting Information

The Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit is looking for information on a shooting that killed two men and hurt two women on July 4.

PHILADELPHIA — A $20,000 reward is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those involved in a deadly Fourth of July barbecue shooting.

The Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit is looking to identify the individuals responsible for a shooting that occurred at 10:40 p.m. Sunday on the 100 block of North 60th Street.

The shooting killed two men, 21 and 23 years old and hurt two women, who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Four people, all armed with semi-automatic handguns, pulled up to a barbecue at that time and location and began firing at attendees, police said.

According to police, the gunmen were driving a dark gray sedan, possibly a Nissan with dark tinted windows. The vehicle as heading north on South 60th Street, turned onto Walnut, and then parked just west of the intersection.

After the shooting, the four suspects got back into the vehicle, which was last seen driving west on Walnut Street towards 61st Street.

After the initial shooting, several individuals return fire at the four suspects, as they are fleeing.

On Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at police responded to 2726 W. Huntingdon St. and found a car with a female victim and a male victim deceased inside.

Both victims had gunshot wounds to the head. Review of nearby sources of video showed that at about 9:30 p.m. the night before, the vehicle parked at the location and three unknown male offenders exited the car and ran away. One of the offenders returns to the car and interacts with a second vehicle which stopped briefly next to the victim’s car. Investigators are hoping to speak with the occupants of this vehicle as possible witnesses.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction for every homicide.
