Adam Sandler Filming New Basketball Movie In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Not even the coronavirus can stop Adam Sandler, as the actor has been spotted in and around Philadelphia recently while he films a new movie.

Sandler, known for countless comedic roles and some notable dramatic roles, is in the city to film "Hustle," which is being produced by LeBron James and has a local director.

"Hustle," according to Variety, stars Sandler as an unjustly fired basketball coach who brings an international star to the United States to prove both of their mettle. It will debut on Netflix, but it's unclear when.

The director is Philadelphia native Jeremiah Zagar. His father, Isaiah Zagar is an artist whose best known work is in Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and his mother Julia Zagar owns Eyes Gallery.

Sandler recently told Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live that Philadelphia native and Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry came home to the city recently for a small cameo role.

Since filming began, Sandler has been spotted in and around the city.

He recently bought two guitars from DiPinto Guitars after getting in touch with the owner asking for an instrument for a recording.

He also paid a visit to George's Music in Berwyn to noodle on some guitars and take one home.

While out in the 'burbs, Sandler stopped by Savona in Gulph Mills for some Italian fare.

He also sought out Asian cuisine in Wayne at Dan Dan.

A few fans saw him as he rode down the street and chased him down. Sandler, despite his wealth and celebrity, had a pleasant exchange with the fans, even asking how their work days were.

Another social media user caught him filming a scene in Center City.

And Philadelphia society photographer Hugh E. Dillon of Philly Chit Chat captured Sandler filming recently.
