Adopt A Cat This Weekend At Philadelphia Brewing Company

PHILADELPHIA — The Pennsylvania SPCA, Philadelphia Brewing Company, North Shore Animal League America, and Swiffer are teaming up for a cat adoption event this weekend in Philadelphia.

From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, an in-"purrson" feline adoption event will be held at Philadelphia Brewing Company.

There will be more than 30 adoptable cats and kittens at the event thanks to the North Shore Animal League America mobile adoption unit.

Increased safety precautions will be put in place to ensure the safety of staff and potential adopters.

Through Sunday, June 28, Swiffer will cover $50 of the adoption fees for 50 approved adopters at Pennsylvania SPCA and at the in-"purrson" adoption event as part of Swiffer's "Adoption Sweep" campaign.

The protocol for this weekend’s adoptions are:

• All potential adopters will be asked to complete the Pennsylvania SPCA’s adoption application on their mobile phones prior to entering the mobile unit.
• All potential adopters will be asked to remain by or in their cars and PSPCA staff will help regulate when households may enter the mobile unit.
• Only one household at a time will be allowed onto NSALA’s Mobile Unit to view the cats. The household cannot exceed three members. (This is reflective of state guidance in phase 2 reopening in Philadelphia.)
• Only one person from the rescue group will be allowed on the unit with the family
• Anyone on the Mobile Unit will be required to wear a mask and gloves (which will be provided) and also maintain social distancing (6 feet apart.)
• Once the family has left, the driver will disinfect the entire mobile unit, cleaning all surfaces, handrails, door handles, and cage latches.
• All adoption paperwork will be finalized outside the mobile unit.

North Shore Animal League America's Mobile Adoption Unit is a climate-controlled shelter on wheels.
