PHILADELPHIA, PA — A man is in custody after he attempted to break into the cockpit of an American Airlines flight that was en route to Philadelphia Thursday morning, authorities said.

According to Sgt. Eric Gripp of the Philadelphia Police Department, the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. on American Airlines Flight 2392 from Orlando.

The man was secured on board, and the plan landed safely on the runway. There were no injuries reported.

The man was taken into custody "without incident."

No weapon was recovered, Gripp said.
