More Winter Weather In PA Before Spring Warm-Up: Latest Forecast

While Wednesday will be mild, yet cloudy, another shot of winter weather is in the forecast for Thursday into Friday. Here's the latest:

PENNSYLVANIA — Winter's last gasps will make themselves known this week, before a spring warm-up is expected across the Philadelphia region.

While Wednesday will be mild, yet cloudy, another shot of winter weather is in the forecast for Thursday into Friday. Rain Thursday could mix with snow overnight into Friday. No accumulation is expected but temperatures will hover in the low 30s overnight.

The rain will continue Friday morning and into the afternoon before clearing by Friday night. But Friday night will be cold, with temperatures in the upper 20s.

According to Accuweather:

As the system moves to the east later on Thursday and into Thursday evening, an area of high pressure will be moving across southern Canada. This high will begin funneling colder air into the region. As this happens and precipitation continues to fall, the air will likely become cold enough for precipitation to mix with or change to snow in northern towns and cities. By Friday morning, as the colder air continues to extend southward, the rain in more areas could mix with or change to snow.

Since the warm ground is expected to help offset any major impacts, "cities like New York and Philadelphia are not expected to get any accumulation," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Carl Babinski said.
