Obituary: George S. Haasis, 80, Passes on March 28, 2018

His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.

Memorial services are being held starting at 10:30 am with a Masonic service, followed by an 11:00 am church service on Saturday April 28, 2018 at St David's Episcopal Church at 763 Valley Forge Road, Wayne, PA 19087.

His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whom George had touched in some way throughout his memorable life.

George was born on February 14, 1938, in Philadelphia, to George and May (Stephenson) Haasis . He attended Roxborough High School in Roxborough, PA. He continued his education at Drexel Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Business where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. George also served in the United States Army.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing chess with his grandchildren, attending church, and sharing a good meal. He also spent his time with fellow enthusiasts at his Cadillac Car Club, entering his prized Cadillacs in classic car shows, and playing and listening to jazz music. George was an active 50-year member of Roxborough-Palestine Masonic Lodge #135, Lu-Lu Shriners and Scottish Rite bodies.

George is survived by his son George (Natalie), grandchildren Steven and Lindsay, step-son David Sharp (Tami), grandchildren Jordan and Ian, niece Kristy Thomas (Scott), sister-in-law Kathy Haasis and special friend Helen Jones. George is predeceased by his brothers, Tom and Bill, and his sister, Joan.
