Due to the coronavirus, the Pennsylvania SPCA is going virtual in its fundraising efforts.
PHILADELPHIA — The new coronavirus has caused fundraising events hosted by the Pennsylvania SPCA to be cancelled or postponed.
So in an effort to keep funding steady, the PSPCA has launched the "Good Dog Jog: A Fur-tual 5k Run/2k Walk."
This virtual event lets participants get involved anywhere, anytime now through Saturday, April 18.

Participants in the Good Dog Jog can take a stroll around the neighborhood with the dogs, log miles over time, or sign up, and sit it out — all while appropriately social distancing — in the safety of their home or neighborhood, it all makes a difference.
The PSPCA said people could even log miles in their Peloton classes.
To participate, register for the Good Dog Jog 5k Run/2k Walk online here.
Track your runs/walks on the either Strava, Runkeeper, Apple Watch, Pacer, Run with Map My Run, RunGo. There is no need to complete your run/walk all at once. Use these apps to track your progress over the course of a day, several days, or a week.
Then tag the Pennsylvania SPCA (@PSPCA) and Main Line Animal Rescue (@mainlineanimalrescue) on social media using the #gooddogjog hashtag.
Participants can also set up their own fundraising page by signing in and then clicking "My Homepage" from the upper right menu. Select the event from your Homepage. You can then edit your fundraising page and share on Facebook.
Funds raised by the Good Dog Jog will support the PSPCA's Emergency Relief Fund, which allows the organization to continue to enrich the lives of both the animals in care and the families in communities who rely on the PSPCA.
Even if you don't want to participate in the Good Dog Jog, you can support the effort by buying Good Dog Jog T-shirts online here.
