Philadelphia Sonic Drive-In Restaurant Closing

Ten Sonic Drive-In locations in Pennsylvania are closing, according to Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification​ noticed filed in PA.

PHILADELPHIA — A Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Philadelphia is closing its door, affecting nearly two dozen workers.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed on Dec. 16, the Sonic Drive-In located at 2201 E. Butler St. in Philadelphia is closing.

That location is operated by MADK, LP, according to the notice.

The WARN notice says 13 people are affected by the closure.

Sonic has 3,497 locations nationwide, with 15 in Pennsylvania. However, WARN notices were filed for nine other Pennsylvania Sonic locations.

They are in Holmes, Norristown, Royersford, Willow Grove, Reading, Lancaster, Elverson, Mt. Joy, and Ephrata.

In total, the 10 closing locations employed 241 people.
